Descripció i objectius:

Horse riding, what a morning!! by Blanca P., Andrea R., Isaac P., Manel A. and Jan FdlF.

Today groups B-C went walking from the campsite to the stables, which are two kilometers away. First, the instructor explained the parts of the horses and how to ride. Horses are vegetarian and they aren't dangerous. Then, we made three groups and rode the horses. We rode in circles and then we took a trail and we crossed a pond, we turned around and went back to the stables.

We liked this activity very much and It is very pretty to see the nature from a horse. We also liked a cat and a dog that were in the stables with the horses.

WE LIKE THE NATURE !

A film review: SPIDER-MAN by Sara T., Pati S., Elisabet S., Anna C. and Andrea C.

Yesterday evening it was rainning, so we couldn't play any night game and we watched a film called Spider-man. Now we are going to explain the film:

The main character is Peter Parker who is a nerd. Peter loves Mery Jane Watson ( M.J). One day in the lab of his school a spider bit Peter. At this moment Peter changes his body: he becomes stronger, and he doesn't need glases anymore. When he is Spider-man he saves New York from his enemy and turns to be the heroe of the city. His enemy is the father of his best friend Harry. Spider-man saves M.J three times and he kills his enemy, then he puts the corpse on Harry's bed. After the burial M.J says that she loves him, but he says NO, he also loves her very much but he is Spider-man and she is in danger if his enemies find out about his feelings.

Today group A spent a sunny morning in the pool playing with kayaks. As the older ones did two days ago, they also paid attention to the monitor's explanations and then enjoyed the activity big time.

A SPECIAL REPORT: 1996-2006, 10 years of English Summer Camp (ESC) by Eric J., Max M. and Miki F.

In each ESC the girls and boys of Peter Pan School experienced their joy and enthusiasm to learn English during the adventure activities and with the English monitors. In these ten years we went to many pretty places: the first two years the ESC was in La Molina, the next two years it took place in Santa Susanna, the following two years we went to Sant Llorenç de Morunys, then to Delta del Ebre and to Santa Susanna again and finally we've been in Bellver de Cerdanya twice.

We feel that all these years were a part of our lives and they were a new experience for everybody. In this decade we practiced many activities. Every ESC was in September and each year is changing for the better. We have shared times of joy, friendship, excitement... We laughed, cried, sang, helped each other and we lived many different experiences. So we think that the ESC will never die because it will always be in our hearts.

Mountain biking by Pati S., Elisabet S., Jan FdlF. and Anna C.

Today we rode mountain bikes. First, we practiced in the campsite and then we crossed the Segre river pushing our bikes in the water. Some boys fell into the water, it was very cold. Then we rode two kilometers on a track which was full of stones and we arrived to a village called Pi. There, we stopped by a fountain, we had a rest and drank some water. Later we continued the excursion. When we were going down the trail one of us fell off his bike, but he soon kept on riding. The way down was faster because the trail wasn't rocky. The excursion was really beautiful: old villages, green fields, farms, mountains and hills and we could also see some cows and horses. After all that we crossed the river again back to the campsite and we finished the excursion. It was tiring but very enjoyable.

The rules of Baseball (chapter 2) by Andrea C., Isaac P., Sara T. and Miki F.

This is the continuation of the first chapter about baseball:

The pitcher throws the ball to the batter. If the batter misses, the umpire (referee) says "strike". If you get three strikes you are out until the next round. If the pitcher throws the ball wrongly, the umpire says "ball". If the pitcher gets three balls, he is out and the batter can run to the first base. When the batter hits the ball, the defenders try to eliminate the runners by passing the ball to the base where the runners are running to. If the runner doesn't arrive before the ball he is out, but if he can do it, he can stop or continue running to the next base. When the batters get three outs, the two teams change their roles.

When you know all the rules, you can start playing the game.

After mountain biking and playing some sports, we thought our kids deserved to take a dip in the pool. After that we also had time to celebrate Miki's 12th birthday.

Tired? No way! Trekking is cool! by Max M., Blanca P., Manel A. and Andrea R.

Yesterday the whole group went trekking to the mountains. We went by coach to Coma Oriola where we started the trek and we finished eight hours later in La Volta a la Muntanya Sagrada. First we climbed up the ski slopes to the top of La Tossa d'Alp. It took us about two hours and a half to get there. We had lunch close to the mountain hut called Niu de l'Àliga.

When we went down we took a path into the woods. It was very difficult and we had to watch our steps because it was very steep. This excursion was very interesting because we could see vultures, crows and the esqueleton of a horse. Over all, during the three hours that we spent going down, we saw amazing views of La Cerdanya and El Berguedà from one of the highest points of El Cadí mountain range. In La Molina we passed by a field where we could see fake animals that are used to practice archery. Then we arrived in the car park, where the coach was waiting for us and we returned to the campsite.

Kayaks in the pool by Andrea R., Blanca P., Elisabet S., Pati S. and Anna C.

Today, groups B-C played with the kayaks and group A will do on Thursday. Group C did this activity in the morning and Group B in the afternoon. First of all, Stew (the monitor) gave some explanations about how to get into the kayaks and how to row properly with a paddle. Then we put on a life vest and jumped into the kayak. There were fourteen kayaks, one for every member of the group.

Then we started to row in the pool. In the beginning it was a little messy, but then we played some games like: packing, the piano and we raced . We spent two hours in the pool. It was a very good activity and we liked it so much!!

The Game of the Mime by Max M., Miki F., Jan FdlF. and Manel A.

A mime is a person who doesn't talk, he uses his body to comunicate. The other night we played the game of the mime. We made four teams and each team chose a film, a famous person, a song and a TV program. We had to perform them like a mime and the three other teams had to find out.

We think that the most funny performance was the film Chicago, but nobody could guess it.

The Weather Forecast by Andrea C., Sara T. Isaac P. and Eric J.

Since we arrived it has been sunny and warm, sometimes it is cloudy in the afternoon and at night it is a little cold. The news said that from Thursday it will be rainy. We are planning to do horse riding (groups B and C) and kayak (group A) on Thursday, so we hope that the weather forecast will be wrong!! When we explain these activities in this web, we will tell you if it rained or not. We are very happy about the weather in La Cerdanya these days, we are very lucky!

- As you can see, our little Robin Hoods also took their bows and had great fun shooting the arrows to the targets-.

CAVING! HALLELUJAH! by Eric J., Blanca P., Isaac P., Elisabet S. and Andrea R.

Today we went to a cave. First we walked from the campsite up to the mountains and we saw the landscape: mountains, a river, the campsite and the whole valley. We continued up the mountain and we reached the top of the hill (the path was very steep!!).

And at last we got to the entrance of the cave! We had to get in the cave with a torch and a sweater because it is totally dark inside. We saw many stalagtites and stone columms. The floor was a little slippery so some kids fell down, but nobody got hurt! We walked about 300 meters along the tunnels of the cave and when we reached the end of the cave, we turned off our torches and stayed in silence for a minute. It was scary!!

We spent one hour in the cave, it was very relaxing because in the city it is always very noisy.

A NIGHT GAME: THE FLAG by Jan FdlF., Max M., Manel A. and Miki F.

Last night we played a night game called the flag. In this game there are two teams. Each team has deffenders and attackers. The defenders must hang their flag from the branch of a tree while the attackers try to find and catch the other team's flag. Defenders can stop the opponents by seeing their faces and saying their names. When the defenders shout a name, this attacker returns to his base.

When we played the game the teams were: class 6 with class 3 and class 5 with class 4. The game was really exciting! Class 5 and class 4 caught the opponents flag first so they won the game. Then we went to sleep very tired!!

A fun sport: Baseball by Max M., Eric J., Sara T., Blanca P. and Andrea R.

This year we are learning how to play baseball. Baseball is an American sport. To play baseball, you need: a baseball, a bat, a mitt for the catcher (a mitt is the baseball glove) and five objects to mark the base.

a baseball match

Instructions to play baseball:

First you make two teams with more than six people. One person is the catcher, who stays behind the batter. The catcher wears a mitt to catch the ball.

Start!!!

To start, the pitcher throws the ball to the batter, who has to bat the ball. When he hits the ball he has to run to the first base before the defenders catch the ball.

Well, the rules of baseball are very difficult, so...

Adventure sports by Manel A., Elisabet S., Jan FdlF. and Andrea C.

Today groups B and C went to practice archery. The material that we used is: a bow, arrows, and some targets. It is convenient to be cautious. Archery is a little difficult, but after a while we could hit the target!!! We made two teams: A and B. And then we did a competition. Group B was the winner. This sport is very funny!!!

This morning group A (the younger ones) did orienteering, a competition where the little boys and girls had to find some little flags around the campsite, and then mark them with a stamp. This game helped group A to get to know all the campsite.

Our first night by Miki F., Isaac P., Pati S. and Anna C.

The first night was very funny because we started playing night games such us packing and The spider and then we went to the bungalows. When we came back from the night games, the bungalows were very hot, but later they were colder. It was a special and funny night.

The bungalows are very beautiful. About four to seven people sleep in each bungalow. Each bungalow has a kitchen, a bathroom, a sofa, a small dining-room and a small terrace. We think the bungalows are good and we feel very comfortable in them.

In the campsite there are many bungalows, tents and caravans but we only use ten bungalows. They are very nice but unfortunately there are some small bugs and spiders - but we have killed them!
